Going against adversity by Boston - February 2017 Scholarship Essay

It was a warm summer day at the high school of North Marion. I was doing my normal daily routine by hitting in the field house for baseball than running the track. It was my Senior summer, I was preparing to excel in the sports I played, so I trained myself to the limit. I was preparing for the best baseball season of my high school career. Everything was looking up, I had college offers from schools I had a good GPA and a supporting family. I thought things were going good, but then the worst happened. The head baseball coach talked with me and told me I couldn't play my favorite sport.
I've never been faced with this type of adversity. My whole life it's always been baseball and school. I was in a pickle. When my coach called me in to his office I assumed it was for talking about next season, but it wasn't. He talked to me and he told me that I have not humbled down since Freshman year and he does not want me to play for his program anymore. When he told me that I was furious I loathed my school. Schools stopped looking at me and everything was just not working. I took a week off before I responded to what my coach told me.
After I took my week off I went back to my coach and apologized to him. I didn't show maturity when I got the news. When I came to talk to him I said I understand and I will work on being humble. I learned what even when things don't go your way there is no reason to roll over and let adversity get you. I told myself I will listen to my coach and I will humble down and take everything he said to heart. When I accepted not playing my senior year I had a better attitude that things for will workout for the best.It is now spring of my senior year, and I still can't play baseball. I am not worried I received an amazing opportunity to play football and baseball down in Oklahoma. What i took out from this whole experience is just because a door is shut on you doesn't mean another won't open.
