To succeed in college there are skills one must have. They teach everyone in high school the basic skills, but one must find the one that works best for them. I believe the skill everyone needs to know is how to take notes. This is because taking notes is an important way to study for a test. The notes need to be legible and organized. Being able to take notes and study them is the key to success in college.

During a lecture or any class the teacher will not give you notes they expect the students to take notes. Since all the notes are on the student, they need to be able to take them properly. The notes need to be organized and stay organized in a binder or folder. Using different colors of highlighters or inks to mark the important items is a great skill. Being able to read the notes is the most important part; so knowing how to write fast yet legibly is the key. Taking notes may seem easy but for them to be useful they have to be taken properly.

The skill for success in college is being able to take notes and study off those notes. The teachers expect this skill from an early age and by the time one is in college they should have it down perfect. Reading the notes for studying is very important and cannot be forgotten. Writing words on a sheet of paper is easy, but taking notes is a skill to perfect.
