Teachers and their Passions by Autumn - November 2020 Scholarship Essay

I am incredibly thankful for the teachers I have in my high school. I have never had bad blood with any of the teachers or employees of the school, and I've always been really happy here. Something I've noticed more this year is how much teachers love doing their jobs. All of them always say they don't do it for the money, but none of them need to tell me in order for me to notice that.

Watching my art teacher draw his demos, help me with projects, and show us different artists are just a few things that make me kind of chuckle, how can someone love art so much? I listen to my band teacher talk about aspects of music and know everything about every musician, and my choir teacher too. Even a business teacher, who wants to be set for retirement, chose a low income job to prepare his students. It just amazes me how someone turned their biggest passion into a career, and know they won't get paid a big amount for it. I'm really grateful teachers sacrifice money in order to teach something they love to kids like me. It all makes me see what a passion really does for a person, something I haven't discovered for myself yet.
