An attribute that can lead to success is leadership. As you are meeting new friends and discovering new things there are a lot of temptations that present themselves. Having strong leadership qualities can protect you, and most likely your friends from going down wrong paths.

A leader not only leads other people, but also usually they have a good idea of what is right and wrong for themselves. A leader can quickly determine a situation and analyze whether it is acceptable. The choice that he makes will not only impact himself, but also the people around him. A leader is not swayed by petty things, and can usually keep him and the people around him out of trouble. A leader also stays on track academically and has more self confidence. It is important in college that you lead yourself to success, and are not dragged in with things that will not benefit you.

Leadership qualities are definitely important in college, and can define a successful student as opposed to an unsuccessful student. having leadership can keep you and your friends from bad things, and keep you on track academically.
