My Dream by Ashlyn - August 2020 Scholarship Essay

If I could build my dream college, it wouldn't be huge. The population would be just about 12,000 students with a smaller teacher to student ratio. Personally I need that one on one help and a connection with my professors. We would have guidelines but not strict in place rules for each class because I have to experience the real world. The campus yards would have lots of trees thick enough to hold hammocks for students and shady enough to have picnics.
I would have it designed so that there could be outdoor classrooms and professors could trade through who works outside on a nice day because I believe that is where inspiration strikes and the best work takes place. The campus would truly be focused on and for the students. It would be designed to encompass every need and create a community that everyone feels safe and welcomed in. Personally I am a big outdoorsy person so I would need that to be the main focal point of the campus. A holistic outdoorsy medicine college is what I am after. I truly believe that not only myself but others could truly flourish and have a successful college career. A student-driven campus is the key to my success and I just hope that I am able to find one
