How She Inspires Me! by Antonio - October 2019 Scholarship Essay

Inaya Ciasia Robinson is the person who has inspired me the most, academically.
She is my best friend of almost five years, she’s extremely academically and career-driven, hardworking, and encouraging.

She has inspired me so much by always making smart and productive decisions, especially as it relates to her academic career. She’s always taken the initiative to better her future in every way possible. She is truly a workaholic, but she tends to work smarter and not harder.

Academically, she’s exceptional. She is on a full-ride scholarship, maintains a healthy GPA, and is involved in extracurricular activities both on and off-campus.

She has encouraged my success by always introducing new ideas and new perspectives to me, even when I wasn’t open to them. She conflicts with my fixated way of thinking, but in a good way. Instead of always fueling ideas or situations that I may contemplate, she always presents a new outlook, offers an opposing solution, or presents new ideas.

Her workaholic tendencies rub off on me whenever we talk about our futures, simplistic ideas or updates about her academic career motivate me to do better. Her mindset is always one step ahead. For instance, instead of vacationing for spring break, she’s planning to volunteer/study abroad in Jamaica, helping local townspeople rebuild and teach in their community.

Ultimately, she has encouraged my academic success by motivating me to work smarter and not harder, take advantage of as many opportunities as I can, being well balanced both personally and academically, and introducing new ways of being productive.
