Freshman advice by Anthony - November 2014 Scholarship Essay

Some advice I would give to income freshman, is to relax and not worry about the change. The change may be difficult and strange at times but it will be new and exciting. High School will bring about many new things in your life, new friends, new classes, teachers and school. High school will help prepare you for college and the world after high school. Don't do things just because everyone else does, don't follow the crowd. Just be yourself and you will find some of the best friends you will ever have in your life. By being yourself you won't get involved with as much drama, and won't have to deal with as many fake friends. You find real friends by being yourself.

Hand you homework in on time because getting behind in high school can make things very difficult to catch up and some teachers give zero's to any paper that's late. I would recommend not to slack off early because it can affect your grade point average by the time you're done with highschool which can interfere with your college scholarships, or colleges accepting you. Make sure to get along with teachers, that will help a long way with them offering to help you.

Get involved with extracurricular activities, these will help you get involved with school. You will be able to get familiar with a few teachers and students through it as well. When you get involved with extracurricular activities it helps you feel more comfortable with the school, whether it is choir, speech, sports, band. You can meet some of your best friends through extracurricular activities, because you will have similar interests, Being involved with extracurricular can also bring about scholarship opportunities later on after high school for getting into college.
