North Carolina by Annon - January 2016 Scholarship Essay

Out of all of my New Year’s Resolutions, to become more organized in my time management is one that will definitely help me become a better student in 2016. Through out doing this I will have to plan out my events and assignments ahead of time, set time limits for different activities, and stop procrastinating.
As a senior in highschool, who is taking community college courses, along with my club activities and hobbies outside of school, I have a lot of things going on in my life. One thing I’ve recently gotten better at is keeping a planner, writing down all my school assignments, dates, club events, and other things outside of school. This has really helped me keep up with my busy schedule and ensure that I turn in all my assignments on time and completed. I plan on continuing this habit in the new year. To help organize my time management as a student, I will start setting time limits for school work. This will ensure I don’t work overtime on something due later, instead of finishing something that will soon need to be completed. I find one challenge I run into from time to time, is procrastinating too much. In the new year I’m going to work on motivating myself to do tough assignments by reminding myself of what it feels like after I've procrastinated and how rewarding it will be to get the job done right, and on time.
All of these goals may be somewhat of a challenge, but will help me in completing my overall goal to organized my time management. As a soon to be college student, picking up these skills will be vital for my success at a university. The new year is the perfect opportunity to set new goals, and in organizing my time my success as a student will be a valuable asset in 2016.
