My definition of Success by Amari - February 2021 Scholarship Essay
Succeeding through college is going to mean so much more to me than just gaining a degree. It will mean that I have completed one of my life goals. One of the life goals that I have been looking forward to and working hard for, for more than twelve years. It will even mean a lot to my family too. That all of the money, time, and effort into me completing college wasn't a waste.
Every person's view on success is different. For example, others may believe that gaining a huge amount of wealth is success. Though, my view is way different. I define success in my life not by how much money I make or have, but how much of an impact I make on others. If I was to look at my life right now, I would not be able to grade my life as successful. Mainly because I have not impacted on as many lives to perceive myself as successful.
Where I am headed now in life, I’m putting myself in positions where I can make impacts. One of those main positions is completing college. By completing college, I will have enough knowledge to soon become a Vet. When I become a Vet I will be able treat animals, which will also impact families lives. I am able to impact families' lives because of the place that a pet has in a family's life. In conclusion, when I help the pet, I also help the family.
