A College Education can Last a Lifetime by Amanuela - April 2020 Scholarship Essay
A college education can last a lifetime. The skills and knowledge that is gained through a college education is nothing compared to what anyone has learned through high school. These skills allow one to succeed in the work world. The classes that a college student takes are tailored to what their major is. These specific classes give that student the knowledge to succeed in their field. Without proper education, it would be difficult for many people to get a job in the field they want to pursue. Even if a college student is undecided, they can still take classes that can help them decide what they want their future occupation to be, or they can learn general skills that can be used in many fields. Without attending college, it would be difficult to attain the skills and knowledge needed for most jobs.
While many do succeed without a college education, it is more difficult to do so. The degree that one receives through college automatically gives them more of a chance of obtaining a job. Even if the student did not study that major in college, they can still get a job similar to the major that they studied. This makes it easier for anyone with a college degree to get a job compared to someone that has no degree. For those people that do receive a college degree, the unemployment rates for that group of people is much lower. Being employed is a key factor in most people’s lives because they have an income and therefore can buy a house or car and support their family. Overall, having a college degree can help someone tremendously in their life. The knowledge and experience that is gained through college is like no other and can last a lifetime.
