My Most Influential Teacher by Alyssa - June 2021 Scholarship Essay

As time goes by, I realize that everything that makes me who I am came from my mother. My mother is my most influential teacher because from the day I was born, she set out to shape and mold my life in a very positive way. Some may say that that is what all mothers strive to do but I can say that my mother has always been the teacher and mother that is the reason for all of my success.
She is a very caring and loving person. She always teaches me to be that type of person for myself and others. She is so positive in every way. However, she does not shy away from a challenge. I learned very early to attempt difficult things with the vision of victory. She encouraged me to dream big and not to make excuses for things that I did not put my all into.
My mother is an educated women who has achieved many things but she taught me to forge my own path. She exposed me to many opportunities so that I would have a diverse childhood. As it related to everyday life, she made sure that I saw the world as an opportunity to grow and thrive. I really appreciated that.
As a student, my mother made sure that I was always considered and recognized in school. She was an active part of my educational growth and development. She gave me all the tools that promoted success from tutors, enrichment opportunities and books.
I cannot think of a more influential teacher than my mother. She has been a compass and support for my entire life and because she poured so much guidance and instruction into my life, I am much better and greater than ever. The things that she continues to teach me will make me strive for excellence in every thing that I do.
