The purpose of a Education by Alexia - April 2015 Scholarship Essay

The main reason behind the need for a decent education is, to give knowledge to individuals. People are born into this world ignorant, weak, and have no immediate information besides their own animal instinct to live. An education gives humans the chance to become far more developed, than just a basic creatures.

A good education is the main thing that shapes and creates the person you currently call yourself, (most likely you see yourself as a positive being in society). It molds our minds to think and function in different ways. Education teaches us how to read and write to perform and maintain meaningful relationships with others within our species.

With learning we are taught to create highly active imaginations, that sprout knew ideas into the world, when we read books. It also is the reason we are given information on peoples previous lives that affect our own decision making and rationality. It gives us purpose in this world, allowing our species to grow brighter, as a whole. The more information a person’s brain attains the more their views and actions on this world will change. Usually a person that has had an adequate education, gaining intelligence, will be successful.
