To achieve your future goals and maintain an academic record that consists of outstanding grades, exceptional performance and gaining a lifetime of world renowned skills it is imperative that you begin and remain focused. I walk around with “blinders” on – not looking to the left or to the right – but straight ahead at all times; not completely oblivious to the world around me but with the drive and determination of making the college experience my number one priority. I must seek to strive for the highest standard of excellence in all that I do. I cannot be swayed by activities that a large population of college students are plagued by (socializing, putting forth minimal effort, not remaining focused, losing sight of their purpose and goals, etc.). I must have a plan from the start – a plan that defines from the start to finish my career path as a student engaged in higher learning.

That plan must include:

a) applying at an institution where my future professional goals can be achieved (for example, I am intent on pursuing a career in corporate law and I will seek studies to help me attain that goal);

b) once accepted, I will adopt a routine of first developing a rapport with my professors and counselors/deans, reviewing material, studying, familiarizing myself with the self-help aids offered by the college (i.e., labs, tutoring centers, libraries, etc.);

c) I will continue my present routine of getting plenty of rest, exercising and making sure to eat healthy, nutritious meals;

d) I will also strive to maintain the academic standards that I have previously set for myself and have, to date, worked exceptionally well for me. I have a tried-and-true method of studying and implementing methodology that has been proven to work for me repeatedly;

It is of utmost, highest priority to achieve success in college. College is a benchmark in society where all that I have strived to do and become in life comes together. College is extremely expensive and every opportunity is made available to provide assistance to individuals with limited means, individuals that have excelled academically along with a variety of unique circumstances for students who wish to proceed to a higher learning arena; therefore those funds must be wisely utilized at all costs and not wasted or neglected in any regard. Aside from that very profound issue is even more importantly, the ability to have a successful, prosperous and fulfilling life (i.e., a life that will afford many opportunities – a job that is satisfying, enriching and rewarding; the ability to take care of one’s self and his/her family should that be their goal; as well as becoming a productive member of society).

It is essential that as a college student I remain committed to the plans that I have laid out for myself and make every reasonable attempt at seeing those plans through to completion.
