Why did the noble gas cry? The Story of Mrs.Gonzalez by Ajhane - July 2014 Scholarship Essay
The teacher who positively affected my attitude about education was my Dual Credit Chemistry teacher, Mrs. Gonzalez. Mrs. Gonzalez never failed to make a lesson exciting. I would always look forward to going to her class on Saturdays because she would bring tasty snacks and play entertaining music.
Mrs. Gonzalez always encouraged me to do my best in everything no matter the situation. During my second semester I starts to loose motivation. She saw the problem at the hand: and encouraged me to work harder, and strive for higher grades. She had faith in me when I had lost faith in myself.
Not only was she a remarkable chemistry teacher, but she also gave me advice about going to college and majoring in Biochemistry. She informed me on the difficulties I would face being a female in a male dominated field. Thanks to her I learned the basics of Organic Chemistry, an important, but the difficult class for any science major, giving me an advantage in the years to come.
Mrs. Gonzalez gave me a new perspective on education. I am grateful for all of the extra time and effort she put into me. Never have I had a teacher invest so much time in her students. In the future I hope to make a tremendous impact in somebody else’s life just as she did for me. Oh and by the way, he cried because all of his friends Argon.
