The University in the Stars by Abigail - August 2020 Scholarship Essay

I dream of attending a university that allows me to look into the sky and see the stars for all their worth. The glittering and pulsating balls of fire that litter the night sky fill my heart with such joy- and seeing them is what makes my dream university unique. No lights that take away from the sky; no bustling city streets that distract; rather, no distractions at all.
This university accepts students regardless of where they come from- which makes it unique. It does not ask the ubiquitous questions about sex, race, income; rather it asks about what the applicant seeks in the university. It determines if the university is right for the applicant, rather than if the applicant is right for the university. No other universities are like this because the generational practice of student competition fuels the college application system in America.
My dream university allows me to study and see the stars whenever I wish because I chose this university for this reason. It did not choose me. Instead of emptying my pockets on something that I could loathe, the college pays for a student that will bring money back into the system. What a dream this could be, and it is what my dream university entails.
