SAT Subject Tests Help
Like 1.7 million other students every year, you may already have taken the SAT standardized test as you get ready to apply for college. However, if you’re looking to give your application an edge at the colleges you want to attend, you might consider taking the SAT Subject Tests. The College Board offers 20 different subject tests in fields which include math, social studies, science, literature, and foreign languages. Each test is one hour long and is administered in the same format as the regular SAT. You are limited to three tests on any given date, but can take as many as you want overall. Some colleges require SAT Subject Tests for admission into certain degree programs, while many other colleges use the results to help place students in courses and advise them about future class selections. Therefore, strong SAT Subject Test results can help you begin college on the path you want to be on.
Varsity Tutors’ Learning Tools Learn by Concept offers SAT Subject Test study help for a number of different tests, including U.S. History, Literature, Math I & II, Physics, and French. Each of the subject test study guides are set up like an interactive syllabus. By clicking on one of the main categories or on a series of smaller topics, you can view a set of example questions that test you on the topic. These questions are presented in multiple-choice format with several possible answers. After going through the question or problem, you select what you think is the correct answer, and then check to see if you were right.
The most helpful thing about Learn by Concept is the in-depth explanation that is included with each answer. For example, math and science explanations include each step as they walk you through difficult, multi-step problems. Meanwhile, social studies explanations give you background about the subject in the problem, giving you a better understanding of why the answer is correct. Whether you are using the explanations to confirm that you understood the problem or to find where you went wrong, these explanations will provide you with additional SAT Subject Test study material.
The Learn by Concept tool provides you with study help throughout your SAT Subject Test preparation. In each subject test section, the tool takes you through the broad categories while also allowing you to get into specific topics. Many of the subject test guides have hundreds of example questions at your disposal. If there is a topic that could possibly come up on a subject test, then it is shown in the Learn by Concept tool.
