Example Question #111 : Plane Geometry
Find the perimeter of a rectangle with a length of 7cm and a width of 4cm.
To find the perimeter of a rectangle, we will use the following formula:
where a, b, c, and d are the lengths of the sides of the rectangle.
Now, we know the length of the rectangle is 7cm. Because it is a rectangle, we know the opposite side is also 7cm. We also know the width of the rectangle iis 4cm. Because it is a rectangle, the opposite side is also 4cm. Knowing this, we can substitute into the formula.
Example Question #131 : Geometry
Find the perimeter of a rectangle with a length of 7cm and a width of 3cm.
To find the perimeter of a rectangle, we will use the following formula:
where a, b, c, and d are the lengths of the sides of the rectangle.
Now, we know the length of the rectangle is 7cm. Because it is a rectangle, we know the opposite side is also 7cm. We know the width of the rectangle is 3cm. Because it is a rectangle, we know the opposite side is also 3cm. Knowing all of this, we can substitute into the formula. We get
Example Question #32 : How To Find The Perimeter Of A Rectangle
Use the following figure to answer the question:
Find the perimeter.
To find the perimeter of a rectangle, we will use the following formula:
where a, b, c, and d are the lengths of the sides of the rectangle.
Now, in the rectangle
we can see the length is 6 inches. Because it is a rectangle, we know the opposite side is also 6 inches.
We can also see the width is 3 inches. Because it is a rectangle, we know the opposite side is also 3 inches.
Knowing this, we can substitute into the formula. We get
Example Question #41 : How To Find The Perimeter Of A Rectangle
Find the perimeter of a rectangle with a length of 8cm and a width of 6cm.
To find the perimeter of a rectangle, we will use the following formula:
where a, b, c, and d are the lengths of the sides of the rectangle.
Now, we know the length of the rectangle is 8cm. Because it is a rectangle, we know the opposite side is also 8cm.
We know the width of the rectangle is 6cm. Because it is a rectangle, we know the opposite side is also 6cm.
Knowing this, we can substitute into the formula. We get
Example Question #111 : Plane Geometry
Use the following rectangle to answer the question:
Find the perimeter.
To find the perimeter of a rectangle, we will use the following formula:
where a, b, c, and d are the lengths of the sides of the rectangle.
Now, given the rectangle
we can see the length is 11in. Because it is a rectangle, the opposite side is also 11in. We see the width is 5in. Because it is a rectangle, the opposite side is also 5in.
Knowing this, we can substitute into the formula. We get
Example Question #101 : Rectangles
Find the perimeter of a rectangle with a length of 9in and a width of 4in
To find the perimeter of a rectangle, we will use the following formula:
where a, b, c, and d are the lengths of the sides of the rectangle.
So, we know the length of the rectangle is 9in. Because it is a rectangle, the opposite side is also 9in. We know the width of the rectangle is 4in. Because it is a rectangle, we know the opposite side is also 4in.
Knowing this, we can substitute into the formula. We get
Example Question #131 : Geometry
Use the following rectangle to answer the question:
Find the perimeter.
To find the perimeter of a rectangle, we will use the following formula:
where a, b, c, and d are the lengths of the sides of the rectangle.
Now, let's look at the rectangle.
We can see the length is 11 inches. Because it is a rectangle, the opposite side is also 11 inches. We can see the width is 5 inches. Because it is a rectangle, the opposite side is also 5 inches.
Knowing this, we can substitute into the formula. We get
Example Question #137 : Geometry
Find the perimeter of a rectangle with a width of 5cm and a length that is two times the width.
To find the perimeter of a rectangle, we will use the following formula:
where a, b, c and d are the lengths of the sides of the rectangle.
Now, we know the width of the rectangle is 5cm. Because it is a rectangle, the opposite side is also 5cm. We also know the length is two times the width. Therefore, the length is 10cm. Because it is a rectangle, the opposite side is also 10cm.
Knowing this, we can substitute into the formula. We get
