Certified Tutor

From a young age, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. This passion has only grown stronger over the years, and I am excited about the opportunity to impact students by guiding them through their passions. This calling has led me to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry Education at Auburn University. While I tutor a diverse range of subjects, my true passion lies in STEM. Now, I understand that STEM subjects can be challenging and are not universally loved. My aim is that through my teaching, I can make these subjects fun and engaging, or at the very least, more bearable. My experience in teaching includes frequently helping peers during high school with various subjects, from explaining concepts in math and science to peer-editing papers. At Auburn, I have expanded my skills by working as a Supplemental Instructor. In this role, I attend lectures for courses I previously excelled in, and then plan and host review sessions twice a week. These sessions include a mix of review games and direct concept reviews, tailored to the students' needs. Additionally, my major has provided me with valuable classroom experience where I have spent time in a class assisting with grading and one-on-one tutoring. When it comes to teaching, I believe in the power of hands-on practice. The best way to learn is through doing, and I incorporate this approach into my tutoring. I also love using games to make learning more interesting and enjoyable. Beyond teaching the material, I strive to be a supportive mentor, providing a safe space for students to come to me with their struggles and to celebrate their successes. My goal is to foster a love for learning in my students, but most importantly, to create an interactive and supportive learning environment where they can thrive both academically and personally.
