As a child, a growing interest in learning at least one foreign language was captivating. English, Italian and French were on the bucket list.
Over the years, lessons to learn all these three languages were part of the agenda. Learning foreign languages was a hobby. The number of doors that would open just by being bilingual was not even an afterthought.
As a Bachelor in Computer Science from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), my first job was at an IT consulting firm with offices in many parts of the world, including the United States. Soon after joining that firm, an offer came to be transferred to Houston, TX, to work on a project which needed bilingual IT professionals. All team members in that project were required to speak English and Spanish very fluently, and of course, write it as well. It is not an exaggeration to say that being bilingual opened more doors than the actual Computer Science degree. Many other colleges were very qualified to work on that "Houston project."
Some of them were technically better qualified. The reason I was selected was for being bilingual. That was a strong card. After transferring to Houston, becoming an American Citizen was on the horizon. American citizenship became a reality a few years later. What a life-changer journey.
Learn as many things as possible, especially a foreign language. Learning a foreign language will open doors that
otherwise will remain closed forever.
Tutoring in foreign languages is a fun way to help those eager to learn.
In past years as an English and Spanish volunteer tutor at Dorcas Place in Providence, RI, I shared with low-income students the joy of learning a second language in a fun, engaging environment. A most rewarding experience. The students were very grateful for the time spent with them in the classroom. Those were fun times.
I enjoy reading, writing, walking, kayaking, running, and biking. I also like making terrariums and taking care of my two cats and pet turtles.
Looking forward to helping you achieve your Foreign Language goals.

I love to read, walk, run and ride my bike. I also enjoy making terrariums and writing. I have two land turtles as pets. One is a Redfoot Turtle and the other one a Mexican Red Wood Turtle. I love spending time arranging their terrarium.
