I am a graduate of Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO where I received my Bachelor of Science in Physics. After graduating I worked for Los Alamos National Laboratory and decided to go to graduate school at the University of Michigan for a Masters degree in Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences. Throughout my academic career I have enjoyed tutoring students at several stages from middle school to college. I am most passionate about Math and Science, specifically astronomy, physics, and engineering. I have a lot of experience in several areas of research related to these subjects.
Having been a student myself for most of my life, I fully understand the challenges that come with learning these difficult subjects. I think the most success comes when students are excited about what they're learning so I try to incorporate fun problems and a lot of interaction in my tutoring. I think that when you look at math and science through the lens of the "real world" you can truly appreciate the topic. I have truly learned to love math and science and I hope to help my students enjoy these subjects as much as I do!

Hobbies

When I am not doing school and research I love being outside with my friends whether we are hiking, running, or mountain biking! I love to go camping in the summer and snowshoe around the Santa Fe mountains in the winter. However, as much as I love to be active, I equally enjoy sitting down with a cup of coffee and reading a new novel.
