I have worked as a professional tutoring with tutoring organization, in college as peer tutor and as a regular tutor abroad. I mostly tutor mathematics, physics, chemistry and programming. I have done one-to-one and group tutoring too. Explaining the basics is the first thing I do. It is easy to build up from there which leads to less confusion and more clarity of the subject. I prefer to give real world example to explain current problems wherever applicable. I want them to really understand the whole concept rather than just solve the problem.
