I have taught high school English literature, writing, and reading for the past twelve years. From this time, I am well-versed in all parts of literature, grammar, and writing, so I am sure I can help you be successful. Mostly recently I tutored a high school student for two years in everything from test prep, literature, writing, history, and college admissions. Also, I was named the head of the English department of my high school six years ago. During this time I have kept up to date with technology, implemented both a speech and college writing course, attended a plethora of professional development, and refined my teaching at the highest level. I currently hold a BA in English and MA in Education. Throughout my teaching I have taught all levels from remedial to honors, so I am well-versed with working with all students. My style with is patient, but persistent. I know all students can learn, and I challenge them to do just that.

Hobbies

I am an avid reader of mostly non-fictional books, but also like some fiction mixed in when I have the time. I enjoy playing golf, and actually coached for several years at the school I teach at. Also, I am a gardener, and am excited about the upcoming season.
