Certified Tutor

I graduated from the University of the West Indies in my home country Trinidad and Tobago as a medical doctor. After working for three years in Trinidad both in the public and private sectors I migrated to the United States in June 2013. I am currently awaiting a spot in residency, hopefully at the end of June 2015. It was a natural choice for me to spend the extra time immersed in my second love; teaching. In my time on the wards in Trinidad I had the honor of molding the minds of medical students. I not only helped them learn but I made them feel excited about medicine. I am very knowledgeable in subjects oriented around the medical field namely anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, endocrinology among others.

Teaching is a skill that must be adapted to the individual student. I also believe syllabus oriented teaching is key to covering adequate material to allow a student to test well. I have solid communication and people skills that will allow me to easily establish rapport with my students and their parents. I pride myself in pushing past average, and I wish to share this trait with my students. I genuinely care about their learning. I am professional, knowledgeable and personable and these qualities will make me a great tutor.
