Certified Tutor

I am a 2012 graduate of East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. At East Stroudsburg, I obtained two Bachelor of Science Degrees in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. Since graduation, I worked towards my certification in Mid Level Mathematics, which I received in August of 2013, and have hopes of continuing my education to receive a Masters Degree. I worked, while in college, tutoring students from a local elementary school. I have had much experience tutoring students in various grade levels, specifically in mathematics. I have worked in the Scranton School District for the past 2 years working as a long term substitute and am hoping to secure a full time position in the near future. I know students learn in many different ways so I believe it is important for teachers and tutors to have many approaches to learning. I will work so that the student I am working with has the best opportunity to learn the subject matter at hand. Outside of teaching I am involved in recreational sports. Any sport from frisbee to football to softball I have played and enjoyed competing in. I enjoy being outdoors, yoga, and also learning new things. I would be a good fit as a tutor because I am determined, hard working, and flexible around schedules.
