After graduating from UNC, I began working in an ultrasound research lab developing new ways to image blood flow using ultrasound, eventually earning a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering. My work in the lab required a lot of Math and Physics knowledge for processing ultrasound signals and writing software to display images, plus a little bit of Chemistry and Biology for understanding what was happening as we took images. During my time at UNC I also had the opportunity to work with Habitat for Humanity, both building homes and tutoring the children who lived in the neighborhoods we were working in. It was incredibly rewarding to work with the same students for multiple years and watch them develop, both as students and people. As an undergraduate student, I also worked as a teaching assistant for Organic and Analytical Chemistry labs, helping students complete experiments and understand material from the lectures.
