I am a graduate of Florida State University and The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley; I earned my Master of Music in Opera Production and Directing and my Bachelor of Music in Voice with an Early Childhood-Grade 12 Education Certification--respectively. I have taught middle school, high school, and college level courses in subjects such as Speech, Theater, Music Appreciation, Sight-Singing & Ear Training, and Choir Ensembles. I have traveled the US working production for opera companies such as Des Moines Metro Opera and Aspen Opera Theater. While I am certified to teach in Music and Theater, I tutor a wide variety of subjects because of the intersections these two art-forms share with English, Literature, and History. I believe that intersectional analysis and critical thinking to make connections across disciplines make us better artists, scholars, and people. I have often found that I am able to help students become empowered in their voices (both literal and written) after working together. I strongly believe that something is not fully understood until it can be discussed and written. I like to spend my spare time reading, working out, taking my dogs on walks, going to the beach, and playing video games.
