I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

I believe every one is gifted and ever one has its own learning style. When I read something unfamiliar I will read aloud to give myself time to understand the words between the lines. What I mean is use your strength and know your learning style in learning. My major, geology, was not my favorite subject until I found the beauty of it. I earned my first degree in Taiwan where I learned to speak Mandarin and my master in Brooklyn, New York, where I practiced to speak English fluently. It is amazing to hear people speaking in different languages. I also learned Japanese and German in the university. I owned my first computer the last year of my undergrad. Since then I love to use it very much including playing games on it. When I studied in Brooklyn college I picked some computer courses besides my major. I am so appreciated the requirements in my undergraduate program. I needed to take a lot of science and math courses which enriched my knowledge and capability for my career and life. I have been teaching or tutoring for twenty years. I love to share my knowledge and experiences with my students and fulfill their needs in learning. All you need is to get the key to open the door by yourself. The treasure is behind it waiting for you to hunt.

Hobbies

Although I am not very active now I used to play basketball, sccoor, badminton, table tennis (ping pong), and swimming. I do STEM at home too. I love watching movies but I become picky now. I love listening musics, almost every kind, however, I am not good at any instrument. I think I like fishing, strangely I never try. After all, I love helping people.
