Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Texas Tech University. I received my Master of Arts in English Literature with focuses in American Literature and Creative Writing. Prior to that, I received my Bachelor of Arts in English from Angelo State University with a minor in Secondary Education. Since receiving my degrees and teaching certificate in 2019, I have taught grades 7th through 11th, as well as adult literacy. Subjects I have taught include grade level English, Honors/AP English, creative writing, journalism, and I am also a certified dyslexia instructor. Additionally, I am a cheerleading coach, so I am known to "cheer" on my students when I am teaching. I have been passionate about reading and writing my entire life, so it is my goal to help students see the value and necessity in these skills by incorporating their own personal interests and connecting lessons to real life. Outside of education, I enjoy driving and working on my Jeep, watching and going to football games (especially The University of Alabama and Dallas Cowboys), and watching re-runs of Gilmore Girls.
