Certified Tutor

I passed all 4 sections of the CPA exam on my first try, and I'm here because I want to create similar successes for any learner who struggles with test-taking, reading comprehension, or self-study skills. I know what techniques I used to simplify the challenge of the exam, and I want to share those same skills with anyone on this platform seeking exam help. Studying doesn't require all-nighters, nor should it be anxiety-provoking by default; so I share skills which I hope can spark a lifetime of easier learning. A perpetual honors student, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with my bachelor's in Accounting from Towson University about 8 years ago; in which time, I have built a notable career in financial services taxation, GAAP accounting, financial leadership, and personnel training. In accountancy, my deepest learning was through my professional work. I count education and training among my strongest skills, and in professional opportunities to develop curriculum for other accountants, I've felt the most satisfaction in my work. I love helping others, and in particular, I have a passion for helping others learn more easily, especially those who are struggling the most. In my spare time, I like to practice creative writing, and maintain a daily journal. I find that these soft skills in communication, literacy, grammar, style, and empathy, to be just as important to the learning process, as any encyclopedic technical expertise. I think that's what sets me apart as a tutor- my commitment to human understanding, and values rooted in human virtue. Additionally, I was originally a political science (international relations) major, and I maintain a personal interest in world and U.S. politics, and international business. I believe education can only be mastered through multiplicities of understanding; I like to connect concepts together for students, so they can begin to see the network of ideas strung together logically, enhancing their understanding of each, and greatly magnifying their ability to recall information when needed. I have always been resourceful, and if I promise nothing else, it is that I will use every resource I can possibly reach to help my students overcome their knowledge gaps and reach their goals.
