Certified Tutor

I have years of experience tutoring students from elementary school up to undergraduates in college. I have a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from Logan University. While I can and have tutored a broad range of subjects, my areas of specialization are Test Prep (such as the SAT), English, and STEM courses including but not limited to Algebra, Calculus (I and II), Reading Comprehension, and Literature. I enjoy helping students solve problems by explaining the process and allowing them to think critically. I often focus on repetition and pinpointing tricky concepts so that the knowledge gained from practicing said concepts can be retained.

My belief and approach for tutoring students is that no topic can't be mastered as long as effort is put in and the student is willing to do so. I know what it's like to struggle with concepts that seem daunting from the outset, so I like to balance important qualities like patience, empathy, and explanatory actions while pushing students to persevere and overcome the academic challenges they face. Academic achievements are not just for certain people; anyone can improve their academic output. The more confident a student is with a subject, the better their classroom performance and personal morale are, and that notion is fulfilling to me.
