Certified Tutor

I have my B.S. in electrical engineering with a concentration in electrical systems and hardware. Throughout my years in high school and college, I have enjoyed many different opportunities to tutor fellow students. I greatly enjoy teaching in English, essay writing, grammar, and physics; however, I particularly enjoy teaching the various math subjects. My engineering background and high level coursework have allowed me to see a very wide and fascinating spectrum of mathematical application, and through this background, I have developed a deep love for the field of math as a whole from the fundamentals to the higher level applications and everything in between. Through tutoring, I am able to share this passion and assist others in the process, and hopefully, illuminate some of the fascinating aspects of a subject. When tutoring math, or any subject, I apply a very heavy focus on the student developing a well-rounded and complete understanding of the topic at hand. To fulfill this, I also concern myself with ensuring that there are no gaps in knowledge regarding previous topics. Since material builds upon itself, I believe that strong and continuous reinforcement of fundamentals is key to establishing a level of understanding that will go beyond the surface level and allow for true critical thinking and prolonged retention of the ideas and concepts. Outside of my academic passions, I also enjoy activities such as playing chess, playing and listening to music, working out, and playing sports such as basketball and tennis.
