Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Western Washington University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English with emphasis in creative writing. I also minored in Film Studies, which was theoretical writing-based. While in college, I worked for Annie Wright School in Tacoma during summer. I mentored international students of middle school age, mostly assisting them in their English language and American cultural classes. After graduating, I worked in customer service for several years, and I gained interpersonal skills, along with data entry and professional content writing experience. In the past year, I returned to school at Seattle Central College, and earned a certification in TESOL, (Teaching English to Students of Other Languages). Through the coursework, I studied teaching extensively, and I also observed and assisted in ten hours of ESL classes. I am especially interested in working with students who are studying ESL. A fierce passion of mine is the pursuit of knowledge, and the availability of education for all people, regardless of language barrier, background, or social class. In my spare time, I enjoy watching independent and art house films, as well as playing guitar, and writing creatively.
