I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Certified Tutor

i am currently working on my doctorate of Philosophy with a focus in psychology in cognition and instruction at Grand Canyon University. I currently work at GCU as an adjunct faculty part time. I earned my Masters in English and Creative Writing with a focus in Fiction from Southern New Hampshire University. I attended Walla Walla University for my BSN and was a CNA2 for sixteen years prior. I also have a Bachelors in Human Development and family Sciences with a specialty in Gerontology and a minor in psychology. I travel and move around a lot so tutoring students online has really helped me to continue doing what I love which is teaching. I have taught children and adults in Asia English. I have home schooled middle school and high school students online in a variety of subjects including English, math, history, and art. I was also a tutor while in nursing school for various nursing courses including pharmacology and physiology, as well as, preparing for standardized tests like Kaplan, HESI, and state board exams (NCLEX). I have worked in the medical field for over 16 years (Hospice, home health, med surge, emergency, ICU, NCCU, maternity, psych and behavioral- adult and child, and so on). I currently have worked as a Special education teacher in moderate to severe autism classrooms.

I think that anything can be accomplished with hard work and dedication. It's never too early to learn and it's never too late to get an education. I love to learn and I love to teach even more. My favorite subjects to teach are English, composition, creative writing, fiction, medicine, and math. When I am not teaching I love animals, singing, playing guitar, writing, reading, art, and spending time with my family. I look forward to meeting new students!
