Certified Tutor

Language is the only thing that sets us apart. Just as it brings us together in understanding it also can pull us apart in miscommunication. My intention through teaching and tutoring is to strengthen the bonds created through language learning. I see language first and foremost as the most intrinsic connection made by human beings. As an American born to first generation immigrant parents, I have always been asked "Why do you study Spanish? It must come easy, you already know it." This alone is one of the reasons I continue to pursue language so passionately. If you know something completely, it is stagnant, with nothing left to learn. That is what is so beautiful about language; it will never reach a stagnant point. It will always evolve, it will always have something new to learn and ultimately to teach. In a world that continues to develop cross-cultural interaction at a growing rate, it must be a priority to acknowledge our responsibility to understand the diversity of a culture, its people and its language.
