I am a Boston-based former PhD student leaving academia for law school.
Tutoring has been a huge part of my life since college, when I began volunteering for the New York Public Library as a literacy tutor for immigrant adults. After switching from art history to philosophy, I became even more interested in teaching after working as an assistant English teacher for a Queens-based nonprofit that helps formerly incarcerated juveniles and adults secure a GED. After college I moved to Los Angeles and taught middle school math for Young Eisner Scholars, an organization that helps prepare gifted students from South Los Angeles for elite high schools and colleges. While there, a big part of my work involved preparing students for the Upper-Level ISEE.
I began my PhD in Philosophy at Boston University in 2016 and served as a Teaching Fellow for undergraduate courses in the 2017-18 academic year. I took the LSAT in September 2017 and will be beginning law school in Fall 2018 at New York University School of Law.
