Certified Tutor

I am a junior at the University of Illinois at Chicago double majoring in Economics and Public Policy, with my interest being in the intersection of the two, or policies that help get people out of poverty. I've held several positions on varying levels of law/government.

However at the end of the day I have always gone back to working with students. I did several mentorship/tutoring programs in high school and helped teach an ESL class for adults. In college I served as a Resident Assistant for the university dorms, educating students on the transition into the college life and the new study skills that that requires.

My passion from helping students would have to stem from my own passion of learning. I am well acquainted with tutoring resources as I have always sought out the tutoring programs at my schools for subjects I've had difficulty with. I am a big advocate of working through problems with students but also making sure that the concept is understood. The best students are not exceptionally smart, but they are exceptional learners.
