Certified Tutor

I am a medical student at Burrell College of Medicine, studying to become a Neurologist. I have a bachelors in Biomedical sciences from the University of Texas at El Paso, and did a one year post bacc at Burrell College of Medicine. I took on this job for the sole reason being that I have always loved to teach.
I first started tutoring 5 years ago, when I was a private tutor for adults who were not able to graduate high school because of the Science G.E.D licensing exam in Texas. From there, I realized how much I loved tutoring, and went on to tutor in many subjects like organic chemistry, molecular cell biology, physics, and other core subjects.
In addition, I taught other extra curricular activities such as piano, guitar, soccer, and swimming for children of all ages. I then became a substitute teacher for a school district where I taught elementary all the way to high school. I took on various long term positions, involving me taking care of a classroom, making lesson plans, and providing an effective teaching method for elementary kids. These experiences shaped and allowed me to acknowledge the huge impact a teacher has on its students.
I have a strong idea that anyone has the potential to be anything they want to, as long as they are willing to work for it. As a person who struggled all through middle school and high school, I am now willing to pay back what my mentors did in molding me as a great student.
