I am a recent graduate of Colgate University, where I completed a Master of Arts in Teaching and graduated magna cum laude. I also recently spent over a year in West Virginia where I led high-school and college students on service trips where they did home construction work. I have taught writing workshops for young people at Newark Academy in Livingston, N.J., and the Young Writers' Workshop at Colgate University. I am an avid reader and writer and love to share my enthusiasm for reading and writing with young people.

What is your teaching philosophy?
When I teach writing or SAT preparation, I like to tap into my student's passions and interests so that they care about their work and learn better. I myself am an avid reader and writer, and I like to share that enthusiasm with others. I look at learning as problem-solving where the learner finds their own solutions with a little help and guidance from the teacher.
