Certified Tutor

I am passionate about learning and helping others learn, too. Keen to expand educational horizons, my aim in working with students is to help them explore through learning, as well as reach their academic goals. I do this by tailoring teaching styles to each student's specific needs.

A native of Pennsylvania, I graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Penn State with a B.S. in French. While there, I received scholarships to study business and French at the Schreyer Honors College. I also received minors in Business, Dance, and International Studies.

Globally-minded and believing one of the best ways to learn is through experience, I have lived and worked throughout the world. In 2003, I was one of only two PSU students to participate in a direct exchange to Paris, where I lived for a year with a French host family, took business courses in French, and interned at an event planning company, which allowed me plan a full event in Barcelona. From 2005-2006, I taught high school English as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. I have also lived in Salvador (Brazil), DC, New York City, and Austin.

With experience tutoring French at the university level, and having worked with younger children, and as a Fulbright ETA, in addition to taking AP French, AP U.S. History, AP European History, and AP Calculus, joining the Varsity Tutors team is a natural fit.

Curious to learn anything new, I have a wide variety of interests including: ballet, line dancing, overseas travel, nature walks, visiting historical sites, horse riding, and improv comedy. I play the Chinese harp and am currently on a country music kick, having just moved from Texas. I'll try anything at least once!
