I am a Speech Pathology major completing my master's degree at Vanderbilt University. I completed my Bachelor???s at the University of South Florida with an honors thesis on the current research in the field of linguistic relativity among bilinguals. My research interests include literacy, the relationship between cognition and language, and the history of language. My other interests include public speaking and volunteering. My goal is to become a Ph.D. researcher after I obtain my Certificate of Clinical Competence as a speech therapist. I tutor a wide variety of ages in a range of subjects, including but not limited to test preparation, latin, philosophy, and writing. I try to incorporate research-based techniques and methods into my tutoring whenever possible.

I have gotten my teacher certification in the state of New York, right after graduating. After graduating from NYU, I taught English to students in Elementary School in Korea (G1-6) and I have taught all different levels. My first experience with tutoring came 5 years ago when I opened a branch of ACT prep tutoring for Revolution Prep. I am currently applying for medical school and working towards a masters in public health. I have experience working with many different ages ranging from middle school to college level students. Most of my experience is with math and sciences as well as test prep for English ACT exams. I can tutor in math (pre calculus, trigonometry, algebra, geometry) sciences (biological sciences, chemistry, physics) and English. My favorite subject to tutor is algebra because it is like a puzzle, and who does not like a good puzzle? My teaching philosophy consists of learning about the students' interests and providing a way to relate their interests into the work they are doing so it can be more meaningful to them. I have found that the more a subject means to a student personally, the better they do in the subject. So, in this way it is possible to turn a subject weakness into a strength and passion.

I am currently a senior at Vanderbilt University studying Mechanical Engineering with minors in both Mathematics and Financial Economics. I am an active leader of my sorority and outside of school I enjoy spending time with my friends, enjoying the outdoors, and soaking up everything Nashville has to offer before I graduate in May! After graduation, I will be moving to Washington D.C. to do technology consulting for Deloitte in their Federal practice. I am originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and love to travel to see other parts of the US and the world!
