I am currently a Junior at The University of Alabama pursuing degrees in both Mathematics & Economics. After I graduate, I intend to stay at Alabama to get an M.A. in Economics. I have been tutoring both Math and ACT Prep since I was a Sophomore in High School. After 4 years of experience, I continue to enjoy tutoring these subjects, and the constant challenge of improving my abilities and techniques. I get a great sense of satisfaction in helping those I tutor improve their grades, test scores, and overall understanding of the subjects I am teaching them. Not only do I focus on the subject matter being taught, but I also focus on helping students develop the study skills and habits that are imperative to success later in their academic careers. Through my four years of tutoring, I have developed the ability to mold my tutoring style around however the student learns best whether that be visually, through examples, etc. This allows me to provide an individualized tutoring session to each person I tutor. I believe no two students should be tutored the same was; every student has different learning methods and I view it as my responsibility to modify my tutoring style to fit each individual student.

I am a current student at Baylor University working towards obtaining a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting. Ever since my early high school years, I have had a knack for and a passion to help others learn. I began as a freshman in high school, by teaching ESL classes to students as young as first grade, to adults in their thirties and forties. In college, I began taking on the challenge of tutoring student athletes. Currently, I am involved in a volunteer program where I am tutoring and mentoring middle and high school students in the Waco area. I have always loved the challenge of helping a student overcome their obstacles, and have enjoyed seeing former students currently thrive in and enjoy the subjects in which they struggled the most.
I am a junior Mechanical Engineering major at Yale, and I hope to become a Naval Aviator after college. I am also a varsity sailor, and enjoy playing music with friends when I can get some free time. I have been tutoring my fellow students throughout my entire academic career, and I would best describe my tutoring style as one that adapts to each students' needs. For example, I have always tried to frame questions in a different way so that the student can better understand the question. Some students need visual representations of numbers and systems to understand them, and others benefit more by understanding the concepts behind each formula. I prefer to tutor in math and physics, and especially with real world application problems. I hope to help students improve their standardized test scores and their understanding of the math and sciences so that they can achieve their academic goals!
I'm a graduate of Princeton University (2009), with a degree in Comparative Literature. I'll be receiving my masters degree in English from Grand Valley State University this fall and I'm looking forward to working with students like you! I've been teaching and tutoring students since 2008 and I specialize in English, Reading, Writing, Essays, and College Entrance Test Prep.
I'm an Iowa native who moved to Nashville for graduate school. My background is in the life sciences; I have a Masters from Vanderbilt in Chemical and Physical Biology, and my undergraduate degree is in Biochemistry. However, my education has been well rounded and I have interests in philosophy, literature, writing, and history. I have extensive research experience, and I hope to share my passion for science with students. I have experience mentoring undergraduate students during my graduate school education to help them gain research experience. I am a very patient teacher and have the ability to see problems from the students perspective; my tutoring style adapts to each student's individual needs, but centers on getting each student to come to their solutions rather than following any one formula for success. I have a lot of experience with standardized testing, and have taken multiple AP subject tests in addition to the ACT, SAT, and GRE examinations.
I am a student at Vanderbilt University, majoring in Neuroscience while on the pre-med track. In the future, I hope to become a pediatrician. I have experience with and tutor in a wide range of subjects, and am most passionate about helping students with standardized exams. I know from personal experience that any exam score can be improved with studying and practice, no matter how frustrating or impossible it may seem. As a tutor, my goal is to listen to and address my students' needs as thoroughly as possible. Outside of academics, I love to fold origami, watch Criminal Minds, and hang out with my dog.
I am currently a sophomore pursuing a bachelor of arts degree in Medicine, Health, and Society. Being a student, Ive understood the frustration of not knowing what to do or who to turn to in the moment I dont understand something. This feeling can be very disheartening, but having the right person to guide you can make all the difference. For struggling students, I want to be that person to help them reach their full potential. In high school, I tutored people (mostly high school students like myself at the time) within the community, and it was personally rewarding every time I saw a student gain confidence in their studies.
I'm a sophomore at Vanderbilt University studying computer science, currently focusing on iOS and game development. I like growing as a person, but I find it much more interesting and rewarding to grow other people. Seeing a student change, not in intellect but in perspective, is fascinating. I like to focus more on concepts rather than memorization so that students will have the tools to excel in any facet of academia, beyond some random test that holds too much significance.
I am a veteran college chemistry professor with a Ph.D. from Yale who has taught Organic Chemistry and General Chemistry I many times. I have also taught Introductory Chemistry to students who had never had chemistry before and also a General, Organic, and Biochemistry course for health professions. I look at chemistry as a set of skills to be learned, similar to learning a sport or a musical instrument. I can show you what to do, but to really learn you need to do things yourself.
I am a current student at Vanderbilt University, majoring in Political Science on a pre-law track. I have experience as a tutor for major college admissions consulting company, and have served as a teaching assistant for a college-level history course. I really enjoy working with students and helping them progress in the subject they're working; my goal is to have them grow academically and learn to trust and invest in their abilities as a student.
I am a second year student in the Vanderbilt University School of Engineering. I am double majoring in Math and Computer Science and minoring in Engineering Management. I frequently tutored my friends and peers throughout high school and continue to do so in my college courses. While in high school, I also volunteered for Higher Achievement, an Academic Enrichment program for middle school youth in D.C. During the summer session,I taught the SSAT and reading classes, acted as a teachers' assistant and tutored individual scholars. I am very passionate about STEM and advancements in the tech field. I strongly value education, something my parents instilled in me from a young age, and I hope to spread my love of learning and the doors that a strong education can open to those around me. I love all things sports and fitness and my favorite activities are biking, running and yoga.
I am a Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology graduate and currently attend Vanderbilt University majoring in Computer Engineering with a minor in Business. I've tutored in various subjects for about 6 years now. I've done it so much, one of the companies I started was tutoring-based. In all, I am a technology-oriented entrepreneur, an impact-driven member of the community, and a striving academic. My passion for computer engineering and dedication to solving the world's problems push me to continue to be better tomorrow than I am today. I am currently pursuing a career in engineering and business where I hope to improve the lives of those around me every step of the way.
