- Igniting a desire to learn in my students drives my passion for working with them.
About Me
I have supported Kindergarten through college-level students in their pursuit of academic success. I have taught and tutored students in all subject areas and ability levels; working with both neurotypical and neurodivergent students. I have worked extensively with students in math and language arts. I am a proud alumni of the University of Pennsylvania (MS in Education/concentration: Special Education and Urban Education), and Kent State University (BS in Education). I especially love working with students in math and language arts (high school English) because these two subjects are the bedrock of all other learning. Once a student gains knowledge and confidence in language arts and math, they master the material in their other subjects quicker. Because I know that all students learn differently, I work with students to determine their learning style and teach them from an asset base approach. In other words, I start with what they do well and build upon that until they reach the objective they need to grasp. When not teaching or tutoring students, I am an avid sports fan. I enjoy embarking on adventures with my daughters; exploring new sites, experiences, and restaurants.
