Joseph
- I am an experienced teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience, not only here in America, but also in the Dutch Antilles.
- I have come to realize that students understand and remember Spanish best when I make it practical/ how it relates to their world.
About Me
I earned an Associate Degree from Prairie State College in Illinois and also completed my Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in Spanish from Northeastern Illinois University. I have taught Spanish to Elementary School students and Middle School students and High School Spanish/Dutch in the Dutch Antilles Island called St. Maarten. I have implemented a unique teaching strategy, such as IB (International Baccalaureate) approach to learning, that includes 5 approaches to learning; TEACHING THROUGH INQUIRY, TEACHING THROUGH CONCEPTS, TEACHING IN LOCAL AND GLOBAL CONTEXTS, TEACHING FOCUSED IN EFFECTIVE TEAMWORK AND COLLABORATION, TEACHING DIFFERENTIATED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF ALL LEARNERS, AND TEACHING INFORMED BY ASSESSMENT. I can truly say that I am very passionate about teaching and helping students come to love a foreign language and transform the way students view the Spanish Language.
