I also have a J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law. I can help students at all levels with their understanding of history, essay writing, test preparation, test-taking and study skills. I can also help with first-year law courses and LSAT testing. At both the University of Alabama and Atlanta Metropolitan College, I taught U.S. and World History. I am well versed in both subject areas. My student evaluations were always very high, and I focused on making History fun and relevant to things happening today. I try to take history from boring facts to interesting connections that tell a story and explain why events come about. I also try to focus on helping students learn to express their ideas through writing, both in formal essays and in class assignments. This can include writing well thought out thesis statements, analyzing the material, and making the correct connections from the material given to them, whether it is from a textbook or primary sources. Most importantly, I love teaching. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others, and I am a patient tutor who is willing to work at the student's speed. Beyond teaching and tutoring, I enjoy watching movies, reading fantasy and science fiction books, listening to music, volunteering at the Atlanta History Center, and Alabama Football - Roll Tide!
