Confidence is Key by Victoria - December 2021 Scholarship Essay

I think that having the trait of confidence best describes a leader. Individuals who are confident leaders are determined, motivated, and ambitious towards achieving any goals. They set realistic but significant goals and will trail blaze the path to succeeding in their endeavors with the help of their personality. Confidence in a leader can also make the difference between a strong group work ethic and a weak group work ethic. Groups with confident leaders often feel more confident in their own methods and actions working towards a goal or achievement.
This trait also goes hand in hand with a type of positive energy, confident leaders feel positive about their abilities and are typically happy. When you make decisions with confidence, work flow becomes easier and you become an easier individual to work with, attracting others to follow in your footsteps. Exhibiting confidence makes individuals trust a leader more; people always want to work with someone whom they trust. Confident leaders will feel ready to take on any task or obstacle that is thrown their way, because they know they will be able to think critically about a solution. Even having the confidence to admit that you don’t know something is a powerful skill. When a leader is lacking confidence, this brings down the entire team. Without confidence, there is no leadership because if you do not believe in yourself and your own actions, who will?
