My Perseverance is My Gift to the Future by Zachery - September 2026 Scholarship Essay

The greatest strategy that one can have to achieve the success they so desire in their academics is to simply act in accordance with what you future already has in store. I know that may sound a little weird, but bear with me. What I'm trying to say is that if greatness is what you truly desire, then that same greatness already exists. It's simply in your future. You just have to act as if the future is already here and imagine how the you of the future tackles their issues productivity. You will become your greatest self by putting yourself into the shoes of your future.
When I want to study, I like to keep a loose structure that allows for me to enjoy the process of learning while having enough roadblocks in place to make sure that I stay on track with my education. My process is this: when I study the very first thing that I do is turn on classical music. The more dramatic, the better. I use it to get myself in the zone. It helps keep me focused as well as motivated. The next step, always, is breaking down whatever problem I am working on. I usually do this by writing it on a large white board which help with visualization and then I can better see how to take it step by step. Lastly of course I actually start working on the problem. I never shy away from taking advice from others when I need it. Once I have all my support in place, the answers just fly out of my head like nobody's business.
I feel like a lot of people put too much structure in place in their studying that it can actually end up hindering them in the end. I know that I'm in school to learn, but that doesn't mean that the learning that I do can't be fun. As a matter of fact, I think it should be fun. At least, that's my take on it.
