What thinking outside of the box means to me by Tyteyona - October 2018 Scholarship Essay
When I think of "thinking outside of the box", I think of many different words where some of them relate to each other and some of them don't . The first word that originally comes to mind is innovation. To be innovative one must think with creativity. To think creatively you have to think different and from another perspective. Thinking different means that you need to leave your comfort zone and enter someone else's or just creating a new comfort zone that's on another level. In this case it could also mean just starting from a new place, like starting from the back and moving forward or starting from the middle and going in your own weird direction that doesn't make sense at first. Then you have thinking from another perspective. Trying to come from another perspective can probably be difficult because not only could it be uncomfortable and unfamiliar, it can make you think back to the person that you used to be and hated or you're just past. Thinking into another perspective can also make you have to think situational, which can be a situation that is extremely horrible or extremely good but you only know "okay" so you don't really know what to think.
With that being said, to me, thinking outside of the box means challenging yourself in ways you wouldn't think to by using innovation to be different and using another perspective to set you apart.
