How I Hope to Bring Change to the Entertainment Industry by Sophia - June 2020 Scholarship Essay

Being part of a community is something special and other-worldly. It brings joy to people around to be part of something so wonderful, and being able to contribute in a unique way gives you a feeling of pride. That's what I hope to accomplish by choosing to work in the entertainment industry.

To many working in this industry seems tiresome and unnecessary, but it's not fully grasped how much the entertainment field is utilized in day to day life. The field uses many common commodities in order to realize the vision in which they wish to portray. Hair stylists, makeup artists, skin care professionals, nail technicians, and IT professionals are all part of the elaborate production used to make an entertainment segment of any-kind.

I hope to call more awareness to how much goes into a commercial or stage play. I enjoy realizing how much work goes into even a thirty second skit, and I wish to bring even a sliver of that joy to others. By becoming a creative director I can tell those working on a production how much they are truly valued. I want thereto be more credit given, especially where credit is due.

As a creative director I want a workplace to be kind, understand and full of hope that there will be better days if today has been unforgiving. No matter how difficult a battle seems I feel that lifting ones confidence in their own abilities will be beneficial to such difficult times.
