In order to have a purpose in life, one must have goals, an aim we look forward to. Goals only gain value once they are actually done, this releases a feeling of self achievement and pride, making you want it more. The goals I have are personal and academic, as to sports. I want to be the first generation student in my family to go to college, and graduate college. Once I get to college I want to join a cross country club and keep my running routine going. Before I get to college I have to take care of other goals like; beating my personal record in track and field, and ending the year off strong, with good grades that will satisfy the college criteria. Aside from wanting to better myself everyday as a person and show and act of kindness everywhere I go, these factors are needed to live a balanced life as we grow.
I have overcome hardships by adapting to a language and city that was new to me on the first day of fourth grade which is english. It was difficult to understand what the teacher was saying, and so was understanding the american culture an average 11 year old lived. I faced bullying and found difficulty making new friends.
Avid has played a huge part in my life considering that class and teachers have been so helpful. Ib have created a strong bond with my avid teachers, and so have my classmates. We create an environment of friendship and laughter making everyone comfortable and happy to be here. One thing that helped a lot was visiting colleges, these field trips made me think about what college environment setting I would like and where I would feel safe at. However, I still have to hear back from colleges I applied to. I hope end up where I want to go.
