French by Sidney - April 2019 Scholarship Essay

Hi, my name is Sidney and I have always been good at school... until French. I was the type of student who was just good at school and did not have to study. Although when I started high school and took French 1 I remember feeling so overwhelmed because I was not just naturally good at it.
That feeling is terrifying because it can wreck my GPA and ruin chances for me. I struggled throughout the class. I constantly felt like I was drowning one vocab test then a tense quiz. One more assessment and I was going to lose it. I decided I needed to figure out how to study. How to learn. My grade since then took a few hits and even recovered at some points. It took so long for me to figure out how to deal with this incredibly hard academic challenge. Although I feel so much more prepared for college after dealing with it. Working through the hard part and learning how to thrive in any class is a huge accomplishment.
all in all what I am really getting at is that you should try no matter what to make the best out of every class and to not just shut down and give up. keep pushing through.
